March 2009 NYC

When I started Joya beauty Makeup and Skin Care Studio in Dover, NH I made it my goal to keep on top of the current techniques and products in my industry. I just returned from a week of makeup immersion in NYC. While there I collaborated with a leading makeup artist on her next book to be released next year, worked with models and photographers on a portfolio shoot as well as an up and coming fashion designer for his spring collection runway debut.

While this was all great fun and a wonderful experience, my favorite part of the week was working with the “everyday” women who will be featured in the book which is all about being 40+ and our ever changing beauty needs. I really feel that just because we choose to live in New Hampshire doesn’t mean the women of the Seacoast as well as women getting married on the Seacoast have to go to the “big city” to get quality beauty care.

Grand Bridal Fashion Show

2009 started with a fun event for Joya and friends, Kathy and Lena. We got to work with
the staff of Grace Ormonde's Wedding Style Magazine and the beautiful models who walked the runway of the Grand Bridal Show.
Favorite products....Joanne loves her "Three Custom Color" lip palettes. You can create any color you want using one palette - they come in Warm, Cool and then Specialty shades. Also from "Three Custom Color" is their Warm and Cool Bronzers. Must have for any makeup bag!

Tricycle Dance Company

What a fun job I have!!! Just had to share these. I have joined the troupe off the "Tricycle Dance Company". Although I won't be donning a costume or gracing the stage with my clumsy attempts.

I am now the creative director of makeup for the Troupe and their upcoming production (to be announced) of Modern Burlesque.

The Artist Summit - NYC October 08

Happy October All,
Just a few amateur shots from The Artist Summit. I was invited to speak at an artist to artist educational conference along side a line up of celebrity makeup artists. It was quite an honor to be part of the event and of course I brought back lots of new tips, tricks and products for all of you.
My presentation topic was about conducting makeup lessons for our clients and was very well received. Every woman wants to feel like a star whether she wears a full face of makeup or just the perfect lip gloss.
